An Improved DC-DC Boost Converter for Energy Harvesting

A novel dual-input DC-DC boost converter that can perform the integration of harvested energy from solar and vibrational input sources is proposed. Firstly, background a hybrid system relates to multi-input converters discussed, limitations current designs power ICs are highlighted. detailed design analysis proposed was done justify its performance. voltage stress has been performed ensure suitable switching devices selected for converter. Two different control strategies DIDCB manage output during source load-side disturbances. Performance circuit carried out using MATLAB Simulink software. Different duty ratios switches in were tested determine maximum ratio highest efficiency be achieved by To demonstrate feasibility converter, performance compared with existing topologies. The high 99.4%, had less fluctuation voltage, reduced overshoot. In addition, demonstrated simpler configuration required fewer component counts, which helped reduce cost size system.
